Gavin Rossdale has been branded "super weird" for dating a Gwen Stefani lookalike in girlfriend Xhoana X

The Bush frontman, 58, has three children with the 54-year-old No Doubt star - whom he was married to from 2002 until 2016 - and his romance with the 37-year-old singer has led to comparisons between the two women

After pictures were released by Page Six of Gavin and Xhoana's vacation to Cabo San Lucas, broadcast veteran Hoda Kotb discussed why she found it bizarre that he would date a woman who looks just like his ex.

Speaking to co-host Jenna Bush Hager on 'Today with Hoda and Jenna' on Monday (13.05.24), she said: "I thought, 'poor Blake [Shelton, Gwen's husband]' -- that's what I thought for one second. They look exactly the same."

Jenna agreed that Xhoana and Gwen look "identical" and even wear the same red lipstick and "dress the same".

She reacted: "That would be kinda weird -- the same thing. That's really interesting."

Whilst Hoda finds it "super weird", Jenna said Gwen should be flattered because she is clearly the "one that got away."

Gavin has been dating Xhoana since last year and they made their romance Instagram-official this March.

The same month, Gavin confessed he wishes he had "more of a connection" with Gwen.

The musician admitted he feels "handcuffed" because he didn't want to "say anything negative" about his former partner.

He told the 'Amy and TJ' podcast: "I never thought I'd ever get divorced. So there's a simple shame in my life."

Talking about how both his parents had been married three times and he never wanted his children to have a similar experience, Gavin added: "I feel bad for my kids, that's it.

"I wish I could have found a way to not have that in their lives. It wasn't fun for me to come from a broken home.

"It can be quite debilitating for kids... the overriding things is you don't want to let your kids down."

Gavin has sons Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 10, with Gwen, who broke up amid rumours he cheated on her with their nanny.

He added: "The biggest thing would be when you see the kids that sometimes there's a loss.

"It'd be nice if there was more of a connection with the person who made them with me."

Gwen has moved on with country singer Blake, 47, who she married in 2021 after they met on the set of 'The Voice' while the singer was in the midst of his divorce from 40-year-old fellow country performer Miranda Lambert.

Gavin added of bumping into Gwen and her spouse: "I go to a lot of events where there's 'the other team', so to speak, and I just feel really proud of myself in my consistency as a father. I know in my heart that I'm super consistent."

He also said their "debilitating" divorce was a "very contentious, hugely emotional, flared-up situation."

Dad-of-four Gavin also has daughter Daisy Lowe, 35, from his previous relationship with 53-year-old fashion designer Pearl Lowe.
