    Raukumara to Whirinaki Forest Parks
    Fine, with cloud increasing tomorrow.

    Remainder of North Island mountain areas
    Mostly cloudy today with a few showers about the Tararua Range. Mainly fine tomorrow apart from areas of morning cloud.

    WINDS
    Light.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    3100 metres, lowering to 2600 metres about Tararua Range tonight.

    Kaikoura ranges
    Becoming cloudy tonight with a few showers, clearing tomorrow morning then becoming fine.

    Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks
    Mostly cloudy with isolated showers.

    Southern Alps
    Snow showers, some heavy, easing tomorrow morning and clearing by evening.

    Fiordland National Park
    Any remaining snow showers clearing this evening then becoming fine.

    WINDS
    Northwesterlies north of Mt Cook, gale in exposed places, easing tomorrow. Southwesterlies in the south, dying out tonight.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    2600 metres, sloping to 900 metres in Fiordland. Rising to 2000 metres in the south late Sunday.
