An alleged mail thief in Auckland's Pukekohe has handed herself in to Police - after a crime was discussed on social media

Counties Manukau South Police received a report of mail theft in January - as well as CCTV footage and a vehicle of interest.

Enquiries were made at an address linked to the vehicle, and a 44-year-old woman brought herself in a few days later.

She will appear in Pukekohe District Court on 28 March, charged with theft.

Police are advising the public to keep an eye out for deliveries and clear their mailboxes regularly.
