    The Australian Football League is mulling over new regulations to tackle the spate of head injuries - potentially implementing limits on contact during training and introducing independent doctors at games

    It comes after mouthguard technology began to be introduced in top-level rugby as part of its efforts to detect brain injuries suffered by players on the field.

    The response across the ditch follows the tragic death of former AFL Richmond player Shane Tuck, who was diagnosed with brain disorder CTE after his death in July 2020.
