Dame Noeline Taurua is defending her decision to leave veteran midcourter Gina Crampton out of the Silver Ferns' 59-48 World Cup defeat to Jamaica

Dame Noeline Taurua is defending her decision to leave veteran midcourter Gina Crampton out of the Silver Ferns' 59-48 World Cup defeat to Jamaica

Whitney Souness was preferred in the wing attack bib, with the coach making only one fourth quarter change for the match.

Taurua says she was tempted to make further substitutions, but the game kept shifting.

New Zealand sneak through to the semi-finals on goal difference and will face England tomorrow night.
