Snooki found out she had around "10 other brothers and sisters" upon learning she was adopted.

The 'Jersey Shore' star - who has son Lorenzo, three, and 16-month-old daughter Giovanna - was born in Santiago, Chile, but moved to the US as a baby when she taken in by an Italian-American couple, but she is now keen to meet up with her South American siblings.

She said: "I actually found out and I have like 10 other brothers and sisters. I guess they couldn't afford me or whatever.

"I have other brothers and sisters. I haven't met them yet. They are from Chile - Santiago - that's where I am from."

"I haven't met them yet ... I'm definitely open to going there and meeting them."

The 28-year-old brunette - whose real name is Nicole Polizzi - admits becoming a parent has helped her understand the tough decision her birth parents must have faced when deciding to give her up for adoption.

Speaking about being adopted on Khloe Kardashian's talk show, 'Kocktails with Khloe', she added: "You have so many kids and you have another kid.

"'OK I can't afford my next child that I love and adore so much. So I'm going to give them to someone who can afford them. Yes I totally relate to that.

"At the same time, when you want to find out where you're from like me, because I was adopted, it's kind of a sticky area."
