Liam Payne and Cheryl Tweedy are yet to agree on which football team their son will support

The 24-year-old singer is keen for their 10-month-old son Bear to grow up cheering on West Bromwich Albion because he is a big fan of the Midlands outfit, but his 34-year-old partner is keen for their little one to support her home side Newcastle United

He said: "I'm a West Brom fan, that's not the problem. Sometimes it is.

"This is the thing, I mean Cheryl's not really that massively into football but everyone likes to bring up where they're from when this happens, isn't it, it's like, 'Oh well, I'm from here so I'm gonna do this.' "

Liam admitted either his or Cheryl's parents may be disappointed when Bear is old enough to decide which team he wants to support, but their son may just end up following a different sport to avoid making such a decision.

While co-hosting 'Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp' - which airs weekdays from 6am to 10am and Saturdays 6am to 9am - he said: "So it's like battle of the grandads at the minute, and he's going to have a tough little choice on his hands at some point because you're going to have to disappoint some grandparents.

"Or he'll just have to go, 'You know what, forget this, I like ice hockey'. Just pick a different sport."

But Bear is not the only one in the family who is facing a tough decision as Liam recently admitted he is unsure where to settle down.

He said: "I don't think I have fully settled down yet, to be honest with you. Obviously my life has been on the road the whole time that I have been doing this so I'm more than used to moving to place to place to place.

"I've actually spent a ton of time in New York I've recently really grown to love the place I think it's amazing. I love LA, But London will always be home for me, I am an English boy I can't help it. I do love my home even though the weather is pants ... there is much nicer restaurants in a lot of different places."

Roman will be joined by a star-studded line-up of co-hosts including Camila Cabello, Anne-Marie, Stefflon Don, Sigala and Paloma Faith as Capital counts down to The Global Awards.
