Representatives have had their 'please explain' meeting with Energy Minister Megan Woods at the Beehive this evening.
It follows the reporting of a leaked email showing BP telling their petrol stations in the region to put their prices up.
BP Managing Director of BP Oil New Zealand Debi Boffa says they were operating in a heavily discounted market and they wanted to reduce that to get a sustainable return.
However Megan Woods says she was unconvinced by the explanation.
