Fuel prices have reached record levels, with 91 Octane up to nearly $2.30 a litre in some parts of the country.
Uber spokeswoman Nicky Preston says it's too early to say if the company will change its fares but says they're regularly reviewed.
Nicky Preston says the company will contact its six thousand driver partners around the country directly and will advise customers prior to any change being implemented.
She says Uber has to look at fares long-term, rather than just reacting to specific or current increases in fuel prices.
