Chinese demand has pushed up the expected payout for farmers

Chinese demand has pushed up the expected payout for farmers

    Fonterra
    Fonterra
Fonterra has lifted its 2020/21 forecast farmgate milk price range from seven dollars 30 to seven dollars 90 a kilogram of milk solids, up from between 6.90 and 7.50.

    The co-op says it's a China-demand-led story.

The Country host, Rowena Duncum, says there was concern China was stockpiling at the last auction.

She says China's food service, businesses and schools are up-and-running again, so there's strong demand that isn't abating.
