    Fonterra says it would prefer no government conditions on its capital restructure, but always knew there was going to be some give and take

    The Government's approved the rejig but wants more scrutiny as to how milk prices are set, and independent market analysis of the share price given to farmer-owners.

    It also requires a financial institution to be involved in trading Fonterra's shares and units.

    The company's chief financial officer Marc Rivers says Fonterra is largely aligned with the Government.

    He says both want a highly performing dairy industry and a strong, successful and innovative Fonterra.
