Concern over the impact lower home ownership among Maori is having on their retirement

Concern over the impact lower home ownership among Maori is having on their retirement

A survey report from the Retirement Commission's found disadvantages experienced by Maori, feed into a tougher retirement.

Spokesperson, Erin Thompson, says Maori are less likely to benefit from KiwiSaver, because of lower take-up rates, and lower average incomes.

She says that's compounded by things like low levels of home ownership.
