Almost halfway through day three of the softball World Cup in Auckland, and the shocks keep coming at Rosedale Park

Almost halfway through day three of the softball World Cup in Auckland, and the shocks keep coming at Rosedale Park

A day after the USA thumped New Zealand 7-nil, the Czech Republic - who lost to the Black Sox first up - have easily beaten the Americans 6-3.

The hosts have an immediate chance to get their campaign back on track tonight, taking on defending champions Argentina.

Wellington wicketkeeper Jess McFadyen gets the chance to debut for the White Ferns, in this week's home T-20 series against Bangladesh.

The 31-year-old is the only change from the victorious squad from the West Indies tour.

And the Sydney Kings will host Melbourne United in an historic Aussie basketball league match at Christmas.

It'll be the first time any Australian professional sport has been played on Christmas.
