James Preston's brimming with confidence as he aims high for the athletics year ahead

James Preston's brimming with confidence as he aims high for the athletics year ahead

The Wellington 800 metre runner hopes a three-peat victory at this week's track and field nationals will help set up a qualifying tilt for August's world championships.

After a win and season's best at a meet in Melbourne last week, Preston's in a good space ahead of nationals.

Preston's 800 metre heats are part of today's opening day of nationals at Wellington's Newtown Park.
