Four people have been arrested in Hamilton overnight, for anti-social behaviour and illegal street racing

Four people have been arrested in Hamilton overnight, for anti-social behaviour and illegal street racing

Police were called to Pardoa Boulevard in Chartwell around 1am, after reports of dangerous driving, burnouts -- and a paintball gun fired at a CCTV camera.

The group fled the scene before officer's arrival.

A short time later near Collins and Ohaupo Road, a man was assaulted, and had his car stolen -- after confronting the group about their behaviour.

Four were then arrested, and police dispersed the group -- while impounding one vehicle, and issuing 37 infringements.

    Investigations into the assault continue.
