    Shane van Gisbergen is feeling nostalgic as he approaches a major landmark this weekend


    The current V8 Supercars champion is due to make his five-hundredth Supercars start at the appropriately named Townsville 500 -- 16 years after his debut at Oran Park in 2007.

    Van Gisbergen says he's come a long way since starting out as a fresh faced 17-year-old.



    Racing gets underway at 4:40pm.
