Kind-hearted truckies have come to the aid of a Hamilton youngster

Seven year-old Oliver Johnson is obsessed with trucks, and his mother reached out on social media for anyone willing to take him for a ride on his birthday.

At least 40 drivers, some of them travelling 120 kilometres, have agreed to take part in a convoy today.

Oliver will get to look at the trucks before picking his favourite, for a ride from Hamilton to Cambridge.

Hart Haulage Director Barry Hart says it's a truly selfless act by the truckies...some of them making a 400 kilometre round trip to take part.
