Financial skills would become a core part of the school curriculum, if Labour's re-elected

Financial skills would become a core part of the school curriculum, if Labour's re-elected

The Party's promising to make teaching financial literacy compulsory from 2025.

It'd mean school leavers will know how to budget, manage bills, invest, and open bank accounts.

Leader Chris Hipkins says to set our young people up for success, we need to make sure they know the basics.

Mr Hipkins says they need to understand things like interest rates, Kiwisaver, insurance, debt, and borrowing.
