He eased past young American Ben Shelton in straight sets in his semi, then imitated Shelton's celebration from his opponent's earlier victories in New York... of hanging up an imaginary phone.
But Djokovic says it wasn't done in malice.
Djokovic takes on Daniil Medvedev in the final, after the Russian dethroned reigninig champion Carlos Alcaraz in his semi.
