An 18-year-old man's been arrested after allegedly assaulting another man the same age outside a Hamilton bar overnight

An 18-year-old man's been arrested after allegedly assaulting another man the same age outside a Hamilton bar overnight

The incident took place near Biddy Mulligans Bar on Hood Street, around 2am.

The victim is in critical condition -- with Police saying it's important to realise just how dangerous any blow to the head can be.

They say it appears the incident occurred following of an argument between a group of people earlier in the night.

Officers are appealing for information from witnesses.

The arrested man will appear in the Hamilton District Court on assault charges.
