    One person has died in a house fire near Waikato University in Hamilton


    Fire crews were called to the blaze -- in a single-level three-unit block on Gadsby Place -- just before midnight.

    Elsewhere, crews were called to an overnight house fire in Huntly.

    And one person has died after a two-car crash on Mokau Road in Northern Taranaki.
