Police have been busy on the roads

Police have been busy on the roads

They carried out more than three-million breath tests last year - up 26-percent on the 2.4-million tests in 2022.

Superintendent Steve Greally says it's having the intended effect, with 31 fewer deaths in 2023, compared to the year prior.

He says they've been out there doing as much as they possibly can to keep people safe.

Greally says in terms of testing, last year was particularly good, the best in about a decade.
