A forensics team is in Auckland's Browns Bay, as investigations continue after one person died, after assaulting someone

Police and Ambulance were called to a Clyde Road sushi restuarant, shortly before 6pm yesterday evening.

The victim has been taken to hospital with serious injuries -- and the offender died at the scene, from a self-inflicted injury.

The pair were known to each other.

Cordons remain in place around the premises.

A police photographer has conducted a scene walk through.
