Pool safety is back in the spotlight, after a father and grandfather died rescuing their two-year-old girl from a hotel pool on the Gold Coast

The toddler was pulled safely from the water on Sunday evening, but the men weren't able to be saved.

Mitchell Ware from the Queensland Ambulance Service says people need to be extremely vigilant around all pools, not matter how deep they are -- particularly when there are young children around.

He says children and even adults can drown within seconds when they find themselves in those situations.
