    The owner of a liquidated Auckland restaurant - must pay a former chef tens of thousands of dollars for employment breaches


    The Employment Relations Authority says Shen Yuan, to pay 85-thousand dollars in wage arrears, premium repayments and penalties.

    His wife and former manager of Hua Restaurant, Linlin Sun, is also liable for the wage arrears - and a separate 10-thousand dollar penalty.

    Labour Inspectorate head, Simon Humphries, says even after liquidation, owners can be held liable for breaches committed while trading.
