The Education Minister says schools can choose how to implement a cellphone ban -- but there'll be consequences for those that don't

The Education Minister says schools can choose how to implement a cellphone ban -- but there'll be consequences for those that don't

A ban on mobile phones in school began today, as students return for Term 2.

Erica Stanford says small schools may choose to take phones off students as they arrive each morning, and larger schools might have a policy to keep phones in bags.

She says the Education Review Office is in charge of monitoring it -- and any schools not implementing the 'Off and Away All Day' policy in place will be visited.
