Kelly Osbourne was "hungry for nine months" during her pregnancy

'The Osbournes' star became a first-time mum in October 2022 when she welcomed son Sidney with her musician boyfriend Sid Wilson but she has now revealed her pregnancy was tough because she was forced to cut out sugar and carbohydrates after being diagnosed with gestational diabetes

She told PEOPLE: "I didn't get to have the pregnancy where you eat whatever you want. It sucked. I was hungry for nine months.

"[I had to go on a] completely sugar-free diet and no carbohydrates."

Kelly admitted she was told the diabetes could become permanent if she didn't control her blood sugars properly during her pregnancy. She added: "It really scared me. I didn't want to deal with any of that."

It comes after Kelly insisted she slimmed down naturally and didn't use weight loss drug Ozempic to shift the pounds.

She told US TV show 'Extra: "I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic. I did not take Ozempic. I don't know where that came from. My mum took Ozempic."

Kelly added it was all tied in to her diabetes during pregnancy, adding: "I had gestational diabetes and I had to lose the weight that I had gained during the pregnancy otherwise I was at a higher risk of getting diabetes, which I did not want. I cut out sugar and carbohydrates and rapidly lost weight."

Ozempic was initially intended as a Type 2 diabetes medication prescribed to manage blood glucose levels but it was later found to cause weight loss through appetite suppression .

Kelly's mum Sharon Osbourne admitted using the drug, but warned others against following in her footsteps after rapidly losing 42lbs.

She told the MailOnline: "I'm too gaunt, and I can't put any weight on. I want to because I feel I'm too skinny.

"I'm under 100 lbs, and I don't want to be."

Sharon also warned: "Be careful what you wish for, " adding: "My warning is don't give it to teenagers. It's just too easy. You can lose so much weight, and it's easy to become addicted to that, which is very dangerous. I couldn't stop losing weight, and now I've lost 42lbs and I can't afford to lose any more."
