WINDS Strong westerlies, turning northwesterlies tonight, and becoming light from Tongariro National Park southwards tomorrow. The Southern Alps Showers, mainly south of Mount Cook, easing tonight and clearing early morning, then fine spells developing. Fiordland and Mt Aspiring National Park Rain, briefly heavy, easing to isolated showers tonight, clearing early tomorrow. Rain developing in Fiordland late Saturday.
