A teenager was at the wheel in a fiery crash near Oamaru last night, which killed two other people

    Police are continuing to investigate.

Emergency services were called to T Y Duncan Road just after 11 last night, after reports of a vehicle on fire.

Detective Sergeant Hannah Booth says an 18-year-old man, who was driving, is in Dunedin Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

But she says two passengers died and they're working to notify their families.

Booth says their thoughts are with friends and family at this difficult time... and police are investigating the cause of the crash.
