A hireable venue in Upper Hutt has been closed after a report deemed it earthquake prone

The Upper Hutt City Council says the HAPAI building on Fergusson Drive will be shut indefinitely.

A report has found the building met less than 34 percent of the new building standards.

The council will work through the report before deciding on the next steps.
