Tenants who called a pest controller because their rental had up to 30 daddy longlegs spiders have won reimbursement after seeking to end their tenancy early

Tenants who called a pest controller because their rental had up to 30 daddy longlegs spiders have won reimbursement after seeking to end their tenancy early

Nicholas McLaren and Emma Greig moved into their rental in Paraparaumu last November and shortly after claimed they had a spider infestation.

Tenancy Tribunal adjudicator Alan Henwood says he didn't regard the pest controller's evidence of three to four spiders as an infestation.

However, the property manager was ordered to reimburse the couple 1072-dollars for ending their tenancy early and the cost of the initial pest controller visit.
