    Congestion isn't expected to ease until 8pm - for Wellington holiday makers heading north from the capital


    Waka Kotahi Wellington advised there were major northbound delays on State Highway 1 this morning between Waikanae Beach and Otaki.

    One driver told Newstalk ZB the traffic had been at a crawl for about two hours just north of Paraparaumu .

    The same route was heavily congested on Wednesday.
