The 38-year-old has been fined 1000 dollars as well as 2000 dollars reparation.
He pleaded guilty to careless driving, and driving with excess breath alcohol ... at the Whakatane District Court yesterday.
Bay of Plenty District Commander Superintendent Andy McGregor says the public rightly expects high standards from officers.
He says the officer has been stood down and an employment process is underway.
