Fire investigators will be returning to the scene of a blaze that's being treated as suspicious in the South Waikato town of Tokoroa

Fire investigators will be returning to the scene of a blaze that's being treated as suspicious in the South Waikato town of Tokoroa

Crews were called to Logan Street at 9pm.

Fire and Emergency shift manager Daniel Nicholson says there was a fire on the side of a vacant commercial building, which went into the roof space.

He says four trucks attended and firefighters took 40 minutes to put the blaze out, and left about 11.30pm.

Also in Tokoroa, two people were seriously hurt in a car accident on Baird Road at 10pm.

Firefighters removed someone who was trapped inside the vehicle and St John Ambulance took two people to Waikato Hospital.
