Otago Daily Times reports Daniel John Alderman has been sentenced to seven months' home detention and 150 hours' community work.
The 42-year-old appeared in the Dunedin District Court yesterday.
Alderman had been staying at the Balclutha Motor Camp when he was visited by a friend and her 15-year-old daughter.
The teenager was asleep when the incident unfolded.
Judge Peter Rollo says the consequences for the victim have been more than minor.
