New Zealand have fallen to fourth for the first time in their history after the second test loss to Ireland in Dunedin.
Remarkably, if other results and their own had gone their way over the weekend they could have been top.
Cane says they want to climb to the summit again, but results will turn that into a reality.
Meanwhile Maori All Blacks captain TJ Perenara's eager to unleash his in-form Hurricanes teammate on the touring Irish side tonight.
Outside back Josh Moorby was the Hurricanes leading try scorer in his maiden Super Rugby season this year, and will debut for the Maori at Sky Stadium tonight.
Perenara says Moorby's earned his start.
Diver Anton Down-Jenkins has withdrawn from the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, in order to prioritise his well-being.
