Security patrols are policing Christchurch's red zone seven days a week to combat growing crime

The city council re-started patrols last month after three new footbridges installed in the area were vandalised.
A large Macrocarpa table has also been stolen, while police are investigating a spate of alleged early morning assaults.
Council's acting head of parks Rupert Bool says security patrols happen daily through Otakaro Avon River Corridor, Brooklands and Southshore - but it hasn't received complaints of these incidents.
