Flights are resuming at Wellington Airport, following the cancellation of more than 180 flights and most Cook Strait ferries yesterday.
Several flights into Christchurch today from Wellington and Auckland are either cancelled or delayed.
Air New Zealand Chief Executive Greg Foran says they need to move about 126 thousand people between today tomorrow and Sunday.
He says he really feels for customers who have to make other plans in the last three days of the school holidays.
