    Property millionaire, meth addict and deviant Mark Lyon has died in prison


    Our newsroom has been told Lyon was in Waikato's Tongariro Prison when he became gravely unwell ... and died in Waikato Hospital over the weekend.

    He's in his mid-60s.

    Lyon was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2014 for drugs and sex-related charges, including offences against girls as young as 14.

    He was among Auckland's rising financial stars towards the end of the millennium.

    Tongariro Prison's director has confirmed a man in custody at the prison died on July 29 - while being cared for in hospital.
