Another wet and windy start to the day for much of the country

Another wet and windy start to the day for much of the country

MetService has issued 13 severe weather warnings for various parts of the country today, including a heavy snow warning for parts of Marlborough.

A section of State Highway 6 between Nelson and Blenheim is closed due to fallen trees.

Wellington continues to be hammered with wet weather, which has already caused several slips around the city.

There are also reports of a flooding in and around Puhoi, north of Auckland.

More cold temperatures are forecast tonight -- with Alexandra set to plummet to minus seven.
