A 62-year-old man at the centre of a police standoff has been released from hospital into custody ... on multiple charges

The man was rescued from his burning property in Levin last week after barricading himself inside for almost 24-hours.

He faces charges of threatening to kill, arson, possessing an offensive weapon, and causing harm by posting digital communication.

He's been remanded into custody and will appear in court at the end of the month.
