Two vehicles are wanted, for their connection to an assault in Masterton that put a man in hospital

Two vehicles are wanted, for their connection to an assault in Masterton that put a man in hospital

Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch says it happened just before 10pm on Monday, when two young men on foot were confronted by a black ute near the intersection of High and Manchester Streets.

One of them was then pursued onto Leeds Place where he was assaulted.

He required surgery for a broken leg and is recovering in hospital.

Police are seeking sightings of the ute, and a red older model utility with a flat deck, which may also be connected to an incident nearby shortly before.
