Two people have been hospitalised, after a nasty truck and car crash, south west of Blenheim

Emergency services were called to State Highway 63 in the Wairau Valley, about 20 past eight.

A St John spokesperson's confirmed one person was airlifted to Nelson Hospital in a moderate condition, and a second taken by ambulance to Wairau Hospital, also in a moderate condition.

Police have warned motorists to expect delays.
