New Zealanders are being reminded of a hidden gem just north of Auckland

As people begin there summer holidays, Kaipara Mayor Craig Jepson is encouraging people to put his district on the "to do" list.

He says the popular Kai Iwi Lakes is just one of the draw cards.

He says there's plenty to do along Baylys Beach before heading on into Dargaville - where there's a wonderful museum.
