Coromandel residents are continuing to suffer from the weather's effects on its roading network

State Highway 2 at the Karangahake Gorge between Waihi and Paeroa is still closed due to a slip.

State Highway 25 was shut for multiple hours because of slips, before re-opening around 6:30 last night.

Coromandel Civil Defence Controller Garry Towler says it's all exacerbated by the continual closure of State Highway 25A.

He says the closure of the main arterial route east to west, is very painful for locals.
