People with dental infections are filling up Emergency Departments and ICUs across the country

In Rotorua, the average wait time for children 15 or under who need surgery is just over four months, and the average wait time for urgent cases is 29 days
Dental Association Chief Executive Mo Amso says new research shows lots of people are ending up in hospital, which could easily be prevented.
He says there's some dental support in some hospitals, but not every hospital base has a dental team.
