A 22-year-old man is due in Rotorua District Court today in connection with the alleged murder of Korrey Whyman in Bay of Plenty last September

He's the second person arrested in connection with her death.

A 31- year-old man is already before the courts.

Whyman was shot inside a vehicle as she travelled on State Highway 33 towards Mourea on the morning of September 25 last year.

The 28-year-old was rushed to hospital but died from her head injuries.

The 22 year old is also facing two charges of discharging a firearm with reckless disregard in relation to other victims involved in this incident.
