    An NZ Post worker has been sentenced for stealing thousands of dollars worth of parcels


    Open Justice reports Elijah Kerr was charged for over taking three-thousand dollars worth of Michael Hill watches, and a pet hairbrush, while sorting packages at the Blenheim depot.

    The 19-year-old also admitted to taking items from another 10 packages, including custom-made jewellery.

    He's been sentenced to two months community detention, community work, and will repay 17-hundred dollars.

    Kerr told the court it was the dumbest decision of his life.
