The Warehouse's fresh produce trial is expanding down south

Fruit and vegetables will now be available in South Dunedin, as it adds five new locations.

The Warehouse Whangarei, Westgate, Lyall Bay, Riccarton, Timaru, and Invercargill have been piloting the trial.

It comes after food prices increased 12.1 percent in the year to May.

Warehouse Group chief executive Nick Grayston says they know every dollar counts, so expanding this offering is an important step.

He says they're continuing to push to make groceries more affordable for families.
