MetService says significant downpours are likely for the already sodden Gisborne and Hawke's Bay

The orange warnings are in place for today through to 6am on Sunday for Gisborne and for today and Sunday for Hawke's Bay.
In both regions, MetService advised that rivers and streams might rise rapidly.
Motorists also needed to be cautious because surface flooding and landslips were a possibility.
The rain is being caused by a low pressure system and northern areas of the North Island, as well as the upper South Island could be on the receiving end today and on Sunday.
